how to stop the world by wroquephotography how to stop the world by wroquephotography
wandering around the old railroad and under the bridges i happen upon many disgarded things. this old destroyed board got me thinking about how much we rely on todays technology. i myself try not to rely on such things as much as possible. i dont carry a top of the line phone and im not allways on it. but i have been seduced at times into that world. it is really cool and fun and addicting lol. but we all need to find a balance in things. mabe im gettin old and turning old fashioned idk. but i get to thinking about my son and how he was on the computer from age of 2 and by the age of 6 learned to surf whatever he was thinking of and has greeat interest in how things work like the printer and heck even vacumes wer his thing for a cou[ple of years and hed watch and repeat consumer reports lol.. anyway the point is if your not taught how to live without these technologies at this point then whats gona happen to the world and the future generations when or if something bad really happens and they cant rely on this stuff and wer never taught how to live otherwise? the world will come to a screaching hault and in the mass confusion it may just trigger the END of the world.. just a thought!

Just look at the confusion and chaos from super storm Sandy caused and before that Hurricane Katrina and before that 9/11 with the power outages from the falling of the World Trade Center Towers. I agree with you that we are too dependent on technology...I don't know how we can reverse things or even if it possible to do so, but we need to re-learn how to live without this new stuff and it has to start with US not our kids--they need to learn it from us and see the value and importance of self-reliance.

Thought provoking piece

i agree totally man! i try my best to teach my boy simple things and show him how to simplify where and when i can. but its sooooo challenging as spoiled as hes been by familly. ( only child) but on a positive side we live more country suburb so at least he is outside every chance he gets not allways stuck inside except winter. hes pretty balnced really but on a whoile yeah the nation of kids needs these lessons. but i think like everything else change comes as fast as it will come. and as many parents that may think like us there are equal amount that want things easy as it can be breeding smarts mind you but lazy at the same time in my opinion. idk its def a complex subject when you want to way out both the good and the bad of it :) hence where i say it just needs be balanced. i think about when i was a kid and watching str wars or sci fi and im seeing it in real life now. touch screens contact with people anywhere anytime via lil portable devices.. im waiting for my lightsabre damnit lol.

I'm not a big fan of technology myself, I have a beat flip phone (on the go type) and that a chip out of and very scratched screen. I have this old hunky computer, and I like it for keeping in contact with folk on Deviant Art and other reptile and spider lovers on youtube. But most of this newer stuff actually confuses me. I like old things. I like my VCR even. I enjoy things like swap meets with random "junk" and crowded antique shops. My mom says I even like older people type clothes and say words people my age shouldn't. Whatever, I guess.

Oh yeah, cool find by the way :XD:
